Bodega Bay here in Sonoma County is one of my favorite locations for shooting a family session. Not only is the backdrop beautiful, it sets the stage for such fun and natural shots of families in action. Kids have the opportunity to splash and play, parents can join in, and the result is authentic photos with a lot of heart.
Jenny and David recently joined me with their two littles for their own beach session. Like a lot of families, they were a little nervous in front of the lens at first. It didn’t take long for everyone to loosen up! I always enjoy seeing how different personalities are between siblings despite being raised in the same home with the same parents. These two were no exception!
While they share some of the most vibrant blue eyes I’ve ever seen, Jenny and David’s kiddos are very different and compliment each other so well. Their five year old little boy was so energetic while his older sister was more reserved. The combination created such a beautiful dynamic between the family, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to capture their blue eyed babies for them!
Jenny and David are so loving and tender towards each other and their kids, and it comes through so nicely in the images. Their daughter was a little hesitant to get her feet wet, but Jenny was more than happy to accommodate by swinging her around for some giggles instead. Everyone was so at ease by the end of the session and focused on having a fun afternoon together instead of paying any attention to the camera. We wrapped up the session with a gallery full of vibrant, playful shots of a sweet family at one of California’s most beautiful beaches.
Jenny and David, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to spend the afternoon with your lovely little family and capture beautiful memories for you. It was such a joy!
