We recently went on a family trip to Kauai, and being the photo nerd I am, I was determined to photograph a family while I was there! It has been a huge dream of mine to photograph a family wrapped in the beauty of Hawaii. Hawaii truly feels like a magical place, where time slows down and the earth feels alive. Everything smells, tastes and feels better in Hawaii!
My kids are at this golden age where they make friends instantly. One morning while we were playing at the beach, they became friends with these sweet kids. Mom and I started talking, and low and behold, she's also a photographer! As soon as I heard that, I instantly asked if I could photograph her family while we were there. She was so kind and said yes! My heart jumped a little and I was SO excited about photographing her gorgeous family!
We met at this incredible location in the North Shore a little beach called Haena Beach. The lava rocks that gently met the ocean filled my eyes with hearts and I know that was the perfect location for her family.
It was a gorgeous night and the tide was low, so the kids to explore/play/splash in the tide pools. I love how each of her sweet kids had their own personality. The littlest was a little shy, and felt most happy being cuddled. She opened up during the session, and I was just blown away by the beauty in her eyes. Big sis was definitely an explorer and loved playing with her family! Their brother really enjoyed moving from rock to rock, and pointing out all the cool things in the water.
I felt SO incredibly lucky to photograph this amazing family! It was definitely an experience I'll remember forever, and I hope it's one that they will cherish too! 💛
