There is nothing better than welcoming back a sweet family! As a photographer, one of the greatest compliments is a repeat booking, and it was such a joy seeing this wonderful family again for their second photo session this year. Just like the first time, this session was once again filled with so much love and contagious joy!
Finding Peace Among the Redwoods
For this session, we chose Riverfront Regional Park in Windsor, and it is truly one of my absolute favorite Sonoma County spots.
The park offers the perfect blend of easy accessibility and breathtaking natural beauty. It's an oasis that feels miles away from everything, allowing families to relax and just be with each other. The light filtering through the canopy of the towering redwood trees is simply magical. It creates that soft, dreamy, peaceful atmosphere that turns a simple portrait into a timeless piece of art.
My Top Tip for Families with Littles
If you have small children, Riverfront Regional Park is fantastic for family photos—and here’s my top tip why!
The main path that leads through the most beautiful redwood groves is flat and easy. This means a few key things for our session:
Less Walking, More Snuggling: We don't have to spend a lot of time and energy trekking to a scenic location. We get right into the action!
Happy Feet: Kids don't get tired or fussy from a long hike before we even start.
Perfect Mood: We can keep the session light, fun, and focused entirely on capturing those precious, authentic moments of connection and play.
We were lucky to have a beautiful evening with this beautiful family. Every hug, every laugh, and every moment of connection was magnified by the incredible backdrop of the giants. It was a true celebration of family love and, honestly, a perfect evening!
